Approximately 400 km northeast of the capital, Kuopio enjoys regular air, bus and rail links with Helsinki, which itself is within easy reach from all over the world.
A flight from the capital Helsinki to Kuopio’s Rissala Airport takes only appr. 45 minutes. Railway connections are also excellent, with a wide variety of daily services (Pendolino, InterCity, etc.). All trains offer modern travel comforts and travel time from Helsinki on fast trains is appr. 4 hours. In addition, a waterway to the Baltic Sea, is open almost all year round.
